We need a general general. So talk about the weather, what happened yesterday, what is up, what you are thinking about, anything and everything. I will start. If anyone is local my area....a cosplay 3 day is on this weekend...No brand con...located in the Dells at the Chula Vista resort. And reading shopper and ARGH!!! So is the Badger Steam and Gas spring flea market on Sand road, Baraboo. WHY does everyone want to do their events on the same dates!!!! So guess head to the flea market, which is free, on Friday. And the cosplay on Saturday. Unless it is raining Friday. As is will be thinking to wear rubber shoes in case grounds are wet from rain Tues-Thur night!

We do have an event section and a chat section with age groups. And it seems like the what's cooking thread is usually used for chatting but this is fine too. Be creative.

I am doing Egyptian this time. I have a gold thread on chiffon gown that works. Bought some sheer gold fabric to do the capelet. And fought for 3 times trying to follow directions on internet. Finally gave up, cut the front and knotted it. GRRR. Bought a plastic collar and will add a black wig, beaded head piece and my brass bracelets and whatever else I can hang on it. lol. Nice day by weather. At least on this site I can post pictures. DH blocked those long ago. I am heading to the flea market later in am. We had inches of rain and more tonight til morning. No use to go early cause vendors wont set up if too wet or raining. I hate perusing blue tarps. The site is grass on sand so with luck wont be ponds. We went to a car one a couple years ago and couldnt even reach some vendors unless we wanted to swim!!! I wore water shoes and they were soaked. Stepped on grass once and ended up to ankles in water. Who else does flea markets?

Many years ago I would go to auction and flea markets with my mother-in-law but after she passed away, I stopped going. I haven't been to one in many years. The closest thing for me would be a craft show or a powwow.

Nope. I have heard of it..guess it is a monster. I usually stay within my 26 mile radius. I probably put on 3 miles doing the steam show flea. It is cool to see all the old stuff. It amazes me what people saved over decades. And sometimes..WHY did they?! lol. Some vendors I think are nuts. Load up a gazillion tons of rusted iron to haul from market to market and never sell. And some get tired of it so just leave it in a heap on the trailer so it looks like junkyard haul. Maybe one day get the hint and do haul it in to scrapyard. I didnt buy much but it is the hunt that counts. Got 3 new backpacks for $8 that I probably wont use. Might be good for car shows. Bought Joe and I each a sheet of rubber gasket material for a buck each that looked useful some day. For something. Paid 10 for a set of 4 deep baby moons 16 inch that might fit..or not. Then a second vendor across offered me another set. lol. Called Joe, well? He said can always make lawn ornaments..if cheap may not fit anything. I said I have one set for lawn..so pass. ha ha. And found the gal setting up that sells commercial runners. Had a nice rubber mat she said 8 due to paint on it I didnt see. So got that and will put that in front of the washer instead of the carpet squares. So nothing great but had fun looking. Then hit a store and grocery on way home. Got home and OWWWWWW!!! Hips, thighs. And chores to do..WAH I dont want to walk!! So then went to the cosplay convention Sat. But, I mostly found a comfy chair or sofa and sat and watched. Got my pic taken and compliments. One young vendor said every time I walked by I was a vision. Sweet kid. Saw lot of costumes. Enough young girl anime to think I was in Japan!! And wondered why the larger the body on some women, the skimpier the outfit. oops.... I will post a pic of mine as soon as Fuzz sends it to me off his phone.

Is it storming where you are? We are having a long storm right now and are supposed to have them all but one day this week. The cable just went out so I guess the Internet will go next. See you later!

Mother's Day is supposed to be rainy and cold but I still want to take flowers to my Mom and one of my pups. I always miss them but especially on certain dates.

It's back on. Usually the phone and Internet go too and tonight they didn't. We had a horrible storm though. Lots of thunder and lightning.
The temp went from 52 to 82 to 50 all in one day. It is cool now but very muggy.

Lots of rain but not stormy so safe here. Mothers Day is nothing now. Just another day. Maybe cause I miss mom and my dog EVERY day and think about them. They were the two that gave me the most unconditional love I ever knew. I was right to go to the auction a mile or two from me.I worked for the couple and know all the kids and grandkids. Estate auction. And for once it was like the old days. There used to be auctions regularly. Guess I never thought on it..just was. And now see what it was was neighbors dieing, retiring, moving away...until the auctions ceased close and neighborhood, because there was no one left. This one was like the old days. Everyone in the area came. And I was greeted by person after person and talked with them. Neighbors, school mates and of course the family members of the couple. The son in law is my age now. He hugged me and said we should get together more...then stopped and said, we always say that dont we..and never do. I guess some of it is life is too busy. And some is we dont want to bother each other. And then one day, there will be that last auction. They say a long life is the best revenge. I see it at one day finding oneself alone to remember everyone you once knew.

Where is everyone? Guess I will talk to myself. Used to it. End of May. June is here and what has gotten done on the to do list. Not much. We had snow in April, cold, monsoons..then heat and skeeters. Once when I was young, summer lasted months. Now it lasts weeks. Retired my butt! The stuff that needs doing is as long as ever. I locked the chicken coop last night and noticed part of the chicken wire has rotten and broken. So tagged it together best I could for the night and now today get to add new wire. Not on list..oh well. Just would be nice to get up in the morning and do what I planned instead of what got planned FOR me. I need to get to town and shop for more plants too. Farmers market tomorrow, maybe hit that and see what they offer. If not, head to store. I have 3 new rail boxes for deck to fill with barnyard and plant. Lets see the cats knock those off! All they can do is sleep in them. sigh...

I went to lock up last night earlyish and everyone was in the barn. Couple of roosters and one hen not in the coop but at least in the barn to chase in. Of course, one rooster has to run back and forth. Shut them in and there is one idiot rooster outside. COOP! No..has to run the other way. "I think I will just scratch up on the hill and call a hen to fool her into thinking I have something." Guess what pin brain..they are all IN the coop and shut. I call, he comes and then changes his mind. Go around between bushes and car barn to herd and ???Fine he goes in the car barn which is a loafing shed. OUT! Great, under and in..THE BUSHES! Go around through them again. NOW WHERE is he? HA heading for barn. So lob sticks at him..not that way...NO, shoot under the fence into the rose bushes. FINE! I hope you like it outside cause you are a worthless rooster anyway. I hope you meet up with a coon and he makes you DINNER! grumble grumble grumble and back in barn to shut top half of coop door left ajar for him to take the high road in. Lock bottom half of barn door. THERE! Fly over and in, perch where ever and to H with you! I know what you mean about on the deck. And the porch and the loggia. Walk around the corner and there is a hen standing like, well? Where is my birdseed and show me where I am supposed to rake? It is not bad except they have to potty on the porch and everywhere. Makes barefootin risky unless you look!

My geese are not allowed out of the barnyard. Bad enough they go all over the barn floor and sidewalk. I always say geese are flow through systems. A gallon of water in and 27 out!! They and ducks are slobs with water too. My first setting hen gave up. Guess all the eggs were duds. 4 more hens setting now. I told the roosters off...what are you? All show and no go? Tenants pheasants are starting to feather out. He texted me the other day they started trying to fly. hee hee...he will find out once they do when he tries to go in the pen. See what a bird explosion is. Isnt it fun to watch newbies raise critters?

It's especially funny when clueless city people tell you how you should be doing things. One fool was trying to explain why chickens need sunlight. So,my answer. You mean I can't just keep em in the trunk of the car and toss em a fish now and then?
Dummy really thought I was serious

That is as good as telling them they need to take their car in and get the alternator fluid checked. Chickens need light but producers manage with lamps. I picked up two chunks of suet for birds. Hung one out in holder and moved back to hang away from deck. So any varmint would have to hang on little branch and pull it up by cord. And this morning, empty!!! WT? Is it possible that between yesterday pm and when I got up by 9:30, the birds devoured it themselves?! I have a couple red bellied peckers that are feeding kids so they come hounding me for seeds. And if pan was empty..and nothing there but suet??? Anyway, tonight I will bring in in the house! I cant afford a buck a day on suet! The two kittens were not up yesterday and not yet today. Watch..since the male Pinto is the sweetest hug bug, some varmint will get him..and his nice sister. Never fails. Why cant they nail the barn cats?!

I feed the birds some scratch grains when I let em out in the morning, Then feed again when I lock em up for the night. If I put out suet or anything, the squirrels get most of it, And I try to keep the squirrels away from the house so Pete and meow don't kill so many of them. But there are plenty of ticks and chiggers for the chickens to get during the day,so I don't really give them much extra until winter when there is not much forage

My chickens come running when they see me. If not, I get them on my doorstep looking for me. I put them to work. They do as well as teen workers. Eager to start, work 10 minutes and wander off. At least they dont use cell phones and work for birdseed. I through it where I need raking done and let them at it. Have to toss it at leading edge opposite the direction I want leaves to go or they just rearrange it all. I remembered to bring the suet in last night. I use old sat dish screwed to the deck post as a bird feeder. I call and wild birds come a-runnin. Feed is always fresh and I can control it. Squirrels arent bad this past year. Either the cats or me. I see..I shoot. Dang tree rats! Worst problem this year are coons. Shot a few and thinking I best set trap again. Dish was knocked right off the other part. Either just cause pinned and wore or cats or coon that jumped on it. Joe drilled it out and screwed it on now.
